Atlas

The Atlas is an interactive world map showing your travel history, statistics, and bucket list.

World Map

• Colored country polygons — Countries you've visited are highlighted on the map
• Automatic detection — Countries are detected from the places in your trips
• Manual marking — Click any country on the map to mark it as visited (no trip required)
• Glass-effect stats panel — Statistics overlay on the map
• Country tooltips — Hover/click a country to see detailed visit history (trips, places, dates)

Statistics

The Atlas stats panel shows:

• Countries visited — Total count with continent breakdown
• Total trips — Across all time
• Total places — All places from all trips
• Cities visited — Unique cities (deduplicated, ignoring postal codes)
• Days traveled — Sum of all trip days
• Continent breakdown — Places and countries per continent
• Most visited country — Your top destination
• Travel streak — Consecutive years with at least one trip
• First year — When you started traveling (based on trip dates)
• Trips this year — Current year count

Bucket List

The Bucket List tab lets you save places and countries you want to visit:

Countries

• Click any unvisited country on the map → Add to Bucket List
• Set a planned travel month and year

Places (POIs)

• Add individual places (not just countries) to your bucket list
• Search for places with coordinates
• Set a target date with month/year pickers
• Shows on the bucket list with flag, name, and planned date

Technical Notes

• Uses 50m resolution Natural Earth GeoJSON for accurate borders (better rendering for smaller countries)
• Prioritizes ADM0_A3 over ISO_A3 for correct country matching (fixes France, Norway, Israel)
• Full A2↔A3 country code mapping for ~195 countries
