Packing Lists

Workflow

In the trip planner, open the Packing tab:

  1. Add categories — Create packing categories (Clothing, Electronics, Documents, Hygiene, etc.)
  2. Add items — Click the inline "Add item" button inside each category
  3. Assign users — Assign trip members to categories so they know what to pack
  4. Check items off as you pack

Packing Templates

Admins can create reusable packing templates in the Admin Panel → Configuration → Packing Templates.

  • When setting up a trip's packing list, click Apply Template to load a pre-built set of categories and items
  • Templates are additive — existing items are preserved when applying a template
  • Templates save time for common trip types (e.g. "Beach Vacation", "Business Trip", "Camping")
  • Full CRUD: rename, edit, delete templates, categories, and items

Features

  • Category-based organization — Items are grouped under categories with color coding
  • User assignment — Assign trip members to packing categories (avatar chips with tooltip show who's responsible)
  • Progress bar — Shows how many items are packed per category and overall
  • Drag & drop — Reorder items within categories
  • Bulk actions — Check/uncheck all items in a category
  • Stable ordering — Categories maintain their order when items change

Bulk Import

Import many items at once via the Import modal:

  • Paste text or upload a CSV/TXT file
  • Format per line: Category, Name, Weight, Bag, checked/unchecked
  • Bags are auto-created if they don't exist
  • Great for migrating from other packing tools or sharing lists

Bag Tracking

Bag tracking is an optional feature enabled by an admin in Admin Panel → Addons → Packing → Bag Tracking.

When enabled:

  • Weight per item — Set the weight of each packing item (in grams)
  • Bag assignment — Create bags (e.g. "Carry-on", "Checked Luggage") and assign items via a colored dot picker
  • Bags are per-trip with auto-assigned colors
  • Desktop: Weight distribution sidebar with colored bars per bag, total weight, and unassigned items count
  • Mobile: "Bags" button opens a modal with the same weight distribution info
  • Useful for staying within airline weight limits and balancing luggage
